This course covers the basics of the foundation fundraising process and the essentials of program development. Using a program development framework, you will learn how to describe your programs effectively so that writing the proposal is easy. You’ll learn how to develop outcome measures and get suggestions on data collection and tracking to prepare interim and final reports.
You will also learn how to identify and cultivate the most receptive foundation funders. From researching tips and resources to drafting that all important proposal, and following up with reporting requirements, this class will help you successfully navigate asking for and securing foundation grants. You’ll have a better understanding of foundation grant cycles, and what foundation officers look for when reviewing proposals. You'll know how to prepare for site visits and how to develop ongoing relationships with foundation funders. The class is ideal for executive directors, development staff, board of directors, grant writers, and program directors.
